We really care about our coffee

If you’re reading this, chances are you care about coffee as much as we do.
For us, great coffee isn’t just about flavour, it’s about responsibility. We start at the source, working closely with growers who farm with respect for their land and their community. From there, we roast every batch here in New Zealand, ensuring transparency, traceability, and minimal footprint. Then we carry that same care all the way through to the final cup by crafting our own home & garden compostable capsules made from plant-based materials. Because real quality should never come at the cost of the planet. So whether you like your coffee light, bold, fruity, or silky smooth, we’ve created a range that reflects the past we’ve walked, the craft we practice today, and the future we’re shaping one capsule at a time.

What Makes Our Capsule Different?

VIBE capsules are made using next-generation PHA biopolymer, developed to safely return to nature. They are fully home- and garden-compostable, without plastic liners or aluminium layers. Instead of ending up in landfills for hundreds of years, our capsules can break down naturally and become part of the soil again. It means enjoying your coffee today without leaving a problem for tomorrow.

What makes ours different is freshness. Most plant-based capsules lose aroma quickly, but ours include an oxygen-barrier layer that keeps coffee fresh for months, so you can enjoy the same flavour we roasted at our roastery. Because we roast, fill, seal, and pack everything ourselves, every capsule begins with freshly roasted beans—not bulk-filled coffee that has been sitting for weeks.

PHA begins as a plant-based material and returns to compost, completing a truly circular cycle. From plant to capsule, from capsule back to the earth. Even our packaging avoids unnecessary plastics and is designed for easy recycling. This is coffee that protects flavour, respects the environment, and keeps transparency and minimal footprint at the centre of how it is made.

Not Just Better — Completely Reinvented

Our next-generation capsules aren’t a slightly better version of plastic.
They’re a complete reinvention — made from PHA, the only biopolymer that biodegrades in all environments: soil, fresh water, and even the ocean.

Compostable Packaging

Our commitment extends beyond capsules. The coffee bags we use are commercially compostable, meaning they are designed to break down in controlled industrial composting environments. From the outer film to the zip and valve, all components are engineered to return safely to organic matter without leaving harmful residue. Once processed in commercial composting facilities, the packaging becomes nutrient-rich material rather than landfill waste. Packaging should protect fresh coffee, but it should also protect tomorrow—and commercial composability allows us to do exactly that.

How Organic becomes Organic again

Even if your used capsule ends up on the ground, it will break down safely. Better yet, plant it in your garden pot. It becomes compost — and part of something new. Your coffee doesn’t just taste good — it does good. Every sip is a step toward a cleaner future.
